It's very sweet. Camilla is an unnecessary elaboration. You'll still get Cam or Cammie from Camilla... I don't know why you're only worrying that that'll happen with Camille.
Camille is spelled Camille; Camilla is spelled Camilla (to me). I much prefer Camille.
I know a girl who goes by Camille, but it's her middle name. My roommate's middle name is also Camille. I don't know anyone with Camille as a first name. Ditto Camilla.
