what do you think of Augustana as a girl's name (despite the name of the band)? In Latin history it has some meaning of hope but I'm not entirely sure on the details.

Augustana is the name of a few colleges, as well as the band.
I prefer the simpler Augusta. I think Augustana sounds imposing.

Indeed. My state has an Augustana. While I like the sound of Augustana, I still prefer Augusta for it's simplicity.

I think its actually quite nice. Before I even read further the name made me think of hope, or joy. I like it :]

never heard of the band, but Augustana feels like kind of a mouthful. i'd stick to something more like Augusta, Augusta-Anne, Augustine, Augustina.

I've never heard of the band and the name seems kind of off to me, like a typo of Augustina or something. The A bothers me somehow.

I've never heard of the band before, but I like the name. It's like a combination of Augusta and Augustina, both of which I really like.
