[Opinions] Rachel
Now that this name is as good as out of the top 100 I think it's safe to use. What do you think of Rachel? Does it feel a bit dated or unfashionable? Do you think it will rise in popularity anytime soon or continue to fall? How many Rachels do you know and how do they spell it?What is your favorite spelling? Rachel, Rachelle, Racheal, Rachael.Does it make you think of Rachel on Friends?

It's an ok name to have. It's actually kind of pretty. Rachel's my name and I would consider it a classic. I hate all spellings except Rachel. Rachelle is ok if your name if it's pronounced differently than Rachel

I love the name Rachel. It reminds me of an intelligent and fun brunette woman, not of Rachel on Friends, even though I do watch it sometimes. I don't think it's dated at all. I think it'll continue to fall, though maybe not too far, like the 200s or something. I prefer the spelling Rachele or Rachelle.

I don't find it too dated. I'm in a different country but Rachel is very popular in my generation - I know one Rachael, and 3 Rachel's were in my sister's year at school. It still seems fairly current to me even though it's not popular among new parents. I get the feeling it will continue to fall out of favour here, it doesn't have the popular sounds at the moment and the nicknamey feel, or potential for nicknames which seems to be popular criteria.I have the association of Rachel from Friends but she's not the only one, it's too popular. I prefer the Rachel spelling, but I don't mind Rachael. Racheal just seems wrong same with Micheal. Rachelle seems a bit pretentious.

I really really like it. If it wasn't my middle name it would be in my top 5 easily. In my name it's spelt Rachel but I know somebody with the name spelt Rachael.
It doesn't make me think of Rachel on friends, probably because it was part of my name before I ever heard of her.

I guess Rachel is alright, but I wouldn't use it.
It's my sister's name spelled Rachel.
Although I love Friends I never think of Rachel from it it I always think of my sister.I've only known of four Rachels. My sister, a girl from school, Rachel Bilson and Rachel from Friends.

I think it'll keep falling for awhile. Probably never enough to fall out of the top 1000, but it's on a down slope. So maybe it'll feel dated soon. But I don't think it does, not yet.I know/have known four Rachel's (one of whom goes by Rae), 2 Rachelle's, and a Raechel (who got her name misspelled at bowling as Reachel). My favorite spelling is Rachel. It's the original, and the simplest.I don't think of Rachel on Friends, mostly because I've never watched Friends. I think of myself ;DPersonally, I think it's rather dull, even out of the top 100. I find it so much more fun as a MN. oh and in my experience, people have difficulty spelling it because there's so many options. My own family can't even spell my name-- I've had it spelled Rachael, Racheal, Rachele, and Rachal. (Oh... and Ratzchel oncem but I think I have an explantion for that)
