[Opinions] Delilah
I love Delilah but I fear it's getting really common (look at the popularity chart), it rose about 300 places compared to last year. Have you already met little girls with the name?
Do you think it's usable? Or too tied to the story in the bible? Is it too sexy (many people told me so but I don't see it)?
Opinions?

Don't like. Here's why
It's not just the Biblical character which makes it a bit loaded. I mean she was hardly of Jezebel proportions but not exactly pleasant either :P. What I don't like is that it feels almost sexy to say and sometimes I'm tempted to say delight and delicious.
I don't know where you are but it's definitely going to rise in the United States as well as the United Kingdom. Lila is already on the up.
I would not call it common. Common for me is anything in the top 20 or that has hung around for long periods.

I can see Delilah's appeal, and I really like it too. I think it has a rich, exotic, melodic quality, which makes it stand out among other Biblical names. But like you, after that song, "Hey there Delilah..." came out, I anticipate this could become common, which would really be a shame. A 300 place jump is something I would look out for. I would check the popularity stats next year, if it either goes down or holds steady then I would hold out some hope for it.
I think it is perfectly usable and not too sexy at all.

I've never met anyone called Delilah.
I think it is usable. I think that the biblical reference would just be a passing comment i.e. I don't it would bring a huge amount of teasing or criticism or anything like that.
No, I don't think it's too sexy lol. I think this is perhaps some people's polite way of saying it sounds like a stripper's name. I don't think it does, though I have heard this said before.

I haven't met anyone with this name. I'm sure it is usable, although I expect it's going to keep getting more popular. I think if it is used more and more the tie to the bible will matter less and less. People will start saying things like "Oh yeah, I went to college with a girl named Delilah" instead of "Like Delilah from the bible?". I don't think it's too sexy at all.
I think it's beautiful.
