[Opinions] Wren and Kestrel
What are your thoughts on these names? They're both listed as feminine, but which gender do you prefer them on? As a seperate but related question, do you have a favorite bird name?

Kestrel is beautiful! It's one of my favourite girls names. I prefer Wren on a boy.

I really like both these names, and have never met anyone with either of them. Of the two, Kestrel is my favourite, and I love the nickname Kess.Did you know, the name Wren can also be spelt Ren, and is a short form of Renaissance (for a girl) and Renard (for a boy).

I didn't know that! Renaissance is a pretty name for a girl ^-^ I'd certainly rather meet a Renaissance than a Hollywood any day. Thank you!

I know a Kestrel...and she's a girl, so that's pretty much how I think of the name

I like Wren for a girl. Kestrel is NMS but I think I could more easily see a boy being named that.

I love both Wren and Kestrel for girls. It took me a while to get used to Kestrel for a girl. It sounds masculine to me. But most bird names are feminine in my book so the transition was easy.Wren is a family surname for me so in theory I could see it on either gender. But wrens themselves are so small and delicate, the image is more feminine to me.Other bird names I like / love for girls: Lark, Linnet, Nightingale, Swan, Dove / Paloma / Colombe. I love Peregrine for a boy.
