Over the last few days I've found myself loving the name Ailsa more and more! I pronounce it "AYL-sah" (like ale-sah...if you get what I mean XD) and find it very charming, headstrong, spunky and unique. WDYT? Any combos?

Ailsa is great- it is the MN of one of my best friends. She was named after her grandma.

Ailsa Leonore is gorgeous also. And Ailsa Ottoline is adorable. It makes me want to rent a BBC drama set in Edwardian England. :-)

I used to suggest Ailsa all the time on another site. But no one seemed to like it so I gave up. I'm thrilled someone else loves it too. :-)
I pronounce it the same way you do, "AYL-suh." Growing up I was addicted to BBC dramas on PBS (U.S.). Many of the programs were sponsored by (or given a grant by) the Ailsa Mellon Bruce Foundation (or something like that). That's where I first heard it. Utterly lovely and, as you say, spunky at the same time.
My standby combination for it is Ailsa Margaret, but I've never put any real effort into finding a mn for it, to be honest. From your list I love:
