Shayna Alexandra and Jacob Luke are nine-year-old twins from California. Their mother was Jewish and they grew up practicing their faith. Both parents died recently. Both are small, slight and brown-haired. Shayna likes to read, write stories and sing; Jacob likes animals, drawing and music. They speak English and some Hebrew.
Aliyah Maya is a two-year-old girl from Israel. She is an orphan. She speaks Hebrew and enjoys playing with dolls and being read to.
Elijah Robert is an eight-year-old boy from Atlanta, Georgia. Elijah was raised Jewish and loves reading, soccer and video games. He speaks English mostly, but has learnt some Hebrew.
Rayna Elizabeth is a newborn baby girl from Manhattan. Rayna has no language or interests yet, though she does like to smile and giggle.

Shay (Shayna) and Jake (Jacob) are settling in beautifully. Shay is very shy, but loves reading aloud her stories to Bubbe (Dan’s mother, Ruth). She joined the children’s choir at our synagogue, and is quickly becoming the star. She and Dan love to sing together as well. She also loves playing with Shevi and Aliyah. Jake is much more outgoing; he and Eli (Elijah) have turned our small little backyard into a soccer field. He started violin lessons, and is doing fabulously.
Eli (Elijah) is trying to invent his own video game. While he isn’t doing that, he is busing playing soccer. He’s also thrilled with snow, for he’d never seen it before.
Aliyah is slowly growing to trust us, and is picking up English words remarkably fast.
Rayna is an adorable baby, but we have renamed her Elisheva Rayna so that her name doesn’t rhyme with her big sister’s. Shevi, as she is now called, is a constant delight. We can’t wait to watch her grow up.
Thank you for these wonderful children!
