Mary suffered complications while pregnant with the twins, and while Patrick and Thomas were delivered perfectly healthy, Mary was no longer able to have any more children.
Civil unrest prompted Anthony to move the family once the twins were old enough. The O'Sheas settled in Boston, where Anthony found work as a dockworker. The older kids -- Michael, William, and Robert -- attend a public school, while Cecilia, Patrick, and Thomas stay home with their mother.
