In 1918, Aurelia gave birth to the couple's last child, Antonia Concetta. Unfortunately, that same year, an influenza epidemic hit their hometown. Antonia and Isabella both caught the disease and died.
In 1919, Elena got married to a WWI veteran, Giorgio Rossi. At first, Silvio and Aurelia tried to talk her out of it, feeling they were too young to be grandparents, but eventually they gave in. The next year, Elena and Giorgio had a son, Cesare Ilario.
Meanwhile, Quirino has gotten engaged to a girl named Martina D'Angelo.
