Life has been pretty boring for James and Mary now that all their kids are out of the house. They are enjoying it also though since it is relaxing. James and Mary love spending time with their many grandchildren.

Margaret and Charles have not welcomed anymore kids. Money has recently not been as hard to come by. Eleanor has started to date but she has not found someone she is seriously interested in yet. Here parents want her to wait til she is in her twenties to get married.

Rose and Walter had some money problems in 1931-32 but things have improved. All the kids are in school and Thomas gets excellent grades. Joan and Joyce love to switch places which annoys their teacher and classmates.

Originally Betty and Robert had not wanted another child, but eventually Betty started to long for a daughter. Robert also did and after FDR was elected they decided to try for another child. In 1933 their daughter, Carol Betty was born. Carol is very sweet and is the apple of her father's eyes.
