It's pronounced DAN-teh, with an open "a" as in "cat" and an open "eh" sound as in "bet".

I pronounce it DAHN-tay. I don't really like it. It only makes me think of Dante Alighieri (the Divine Comedy guy) and this lion with a rider thing from Final Fantasy III called a Dante.

I think a really strong and masculine middle name would go well with it:
