My name is Kimberly.
I hate any other spellings of it besides Kimberley. The others are so made up and trendy.
And yes if you use Kimberly she WILL get called Kim. I introduce myself as Kimberly and people always call me Kim. I'll say 'this is Kimberly' and they will say 'ok Kim' and I'm like hello I said my name was Kimberly-not Kim. It's very annoying. I'd freak out if someone called me Kimmy.
I don't mind Kimber and Bearly. I get both of those nicknames at work.
I don't think Kimberly would gain much more in popularity. I don't see it becoming the next Emma.
I knew one other girl my age named Kimberly but she always went strickly by Kim. We are 25 now. And I think I breifly worked with a Kim when I was a server but she was in her 40's probably.
