I see Lieve as a form of Lieven (I'm not sure if this is so, it's just how I see it), and Lieven is listed as a boys name. Maybe it also has something to do with the fact that I met a Belgian boy named Lieve (or Lieven) on vacation once, so it stuck with me as a boys name...
