[Opinions] Domino?
My husband is a fan of India Hicks, who named her newest baby girl Domino. He now is in love with this name. I think it's pretty cute, what do you think of it? It's Latin, a feminine form of Dominic, a varient of Dominique. It means "of the Lord".Any combos?

also, are you sure it's meant to be fem?I don't know so much about Latin specifically, but w/ Span. o endings are more common w/ boys than w/ girls for names that have forms for both genders... and since tv shows and movies aren't always the best sources to draw from, it may be worth looking into to see if maybe that's a male form w/ Domina or something similar for the fem. form.

pretty sure, I triple checked it!I was surprised an -o ending name was considered feminine too...I checked with my languages professor too.

It only makes me think of Domino from Thunderball. And dominoes, of course. I think it'd be a cute nn for Dominique (which is what it is in Thunderball), but I don't like it on its own.

I didn't realize...that he liked it because of the James Bond character! I've never seen that one. lol, that's just like him! He also said he liked Honey Ryder!

Sorry, I don't like it at all. It reminds me of pizzas, the game, the mask and the James Bond character. Dominique or Domenica would be way better.

for a human? no... wouldn't use it... I'd always think of the dile games or the pizza place... There are many other fem forms of Dominic that are quite lovely... like Dominga, Dominique and Dominica.

I think its cute but could really only work in the mn slot. In the first name slot it is just a bit too out there. Besides, no one will think of Domino Harvey or India Hicks, they will think of the game.
