Ooh I love the name Patrick, always have. I just hate it when it's shortened to Pat.I like Patrick Arthur and Rhys Patrick.

Patrick is pretty much the perfect name in my book- there is literally nothing I don't like about it. It is strong, handsome, has so much history, nice nns. I just adore it. Traditionally the first born boy in each generation of my family is either Patrick William or William Patrick. It alternates between them, for eg my great-grandfather was Patrick William and his son, the first boy of the generation was William Patrick. The only exception is my cousin Patrick Trevor and thats only because we already had our William Patrick and Patrick William in this generation!Some combo suggestions:

I don't care for Patrick as a fn b/c I don't really like the nn Pat. Rick/Ricky are ok but completely different names (imo) than Patrick. I do however love it as a mn.

Patrick MariusI have to tell you that I pronounce Noel as NOHL for a boy and everyone I know yells at me. They say it should be NO-ell. I tell them that is the feminine pronunciation, but we keep having this argument. It's good to know I'm not the only one who pronounces it NOHL. Sorry, bit of a rant.

Noel. *sigh*Noel for a boy is "nohl," like Noel Coward. I'm with you 100%.I agree with your friends, but ONLY when two dots are over the 'e.' (I can't remember what they are called in French.) The purpose of the two dots is to make it clear that each vowel has its own distinct sound. No two dots -- no two sounds. Think: The First Noe"l. Perhaps if you point this out to them and settle the debate once and for all.I used to rant about this but I got tired and gave up. It's nice to know someone else feels the same way.Anyway, back to Patrick. I'm glad you liked the first course.
