[Opinions] Nickname for Emmanuel?
In general I don't care for nicknames and most of my favourite names don't need one but for some reason I feel different about Emmanuel. I know that Manu is a common French nickname for Emmanuel but I don't like it at all. Manuel is too different and Hispanic and it doesn't have the same feel at all. Emu is an ugly bird. In other words, I'm lost. Do you have any suggestions for a nice nickname for Emmanuel?

Well, there's Manny, but I'm not into that. What about Mano, or is that too close to Manu? Or maybe Mel. Or Nuel, but that looks awkward to me. Or E-Man! (nah.) Or Lem? Or maybe Ema (ee-ma), but maybe the a ending is too feminine and Ema looks a lot like Emma. So...Manny
Mano
Mel
Nuel
E-Man! (yes, the exclamation point is part of the nn.)
Lem
EmaThis is a toughie. I'm not feeling any of those, except maybe Mel.

Manny was common a while ago, but I personally hate it. Emma and Emmy are irrevocably feminine... but I would use Emmanuelle myself, so that's really not relevant.I really don't feel as though there are many nicknames you can come up with. Manu is great and unique, but other than that, I'm at a loss.

I knew an Emanuel who went by Ema, I don't know what you make of it.
The first time I heard someone refer to him as Ema, mz reaction was: "Hold on, who's Emma?"
I can't think of other nns. I also don't care for Manuel and Manu,

I'd go with Manny, which I think is cute, or Em/Emme.
