[Opinions] Alvin
I know you automatically think....Chipmunks....but I am really starting to like the boy name Alvin. Do you honestly think it is usable?

It's pleasant... though you're right... my next thoughts were Simon and Theodore... As long as you don't go w/ that sibset, you may be ok... the Chipmunks don't seem to be as well known among some of the younger generation.

I love it and actually would use it...It's my grandfather's name. I think it's cute, though I prefer Alfred, nn Alfie. Alvie/Alva (like Thomas Alva Edison) would be cute nicknames.

I was friends with one in elementary schoolAnd he got teased and called Alvin Chipmunk all the time. Although that was in the early-mid 90's, so who knows if an Alvin born now would get that since I don't think they play that cartoon anymore.I think it seems a bit stuffy.

To be honest, yes I automatically think chipmunk. I think that Allen is much more usable, although both are oldmanish in my opinion.

I think it's still usable. People use Simon and Theodore without the connection (probably less noticeable). There are plenty of people out there who have been using the name, Alvin is still in the top 1000 (in the US). It's been declining the past 30+ years, but still...

I know a guy called Alvin- so it's definitely usable, but I have always thought it sounded kind of goofy because I still associate it with chipmunksETA: I prefer Albin

Sorry, I can't get past the chipmunks thing. It would be off my list. Which is a shame. It's cute.
