Freaky.I was talking to a co-worker this morning about Berthe. She was saying how her grandmother's name was Bertha Gertrude. I gave her the German pronunciation of both. She said they were much better than in English. I said that overall I prefer the French pronunciation. She agreed. It's weird to see Berthe come up on this site. I had another freaky coincidence this morning too. Anyway. Berthe is gorgeous. I love the "behr-" sound in it, as you can see from my pseudonym. Berthe is so elegant. I love German names anyway. And when the French take one and alter it that just adds another layer of "oh, goodie" to it all. My favorites from your wonderful list:Berthe Alphonsine
Berthe Corisande
Berthe Cornelie
Berthe Eloise / Heloise
Berthe Eugenie
Berthe Eulalie
Berthe Henriette
Berthe Josephine
Berthe Lucrece
Berthe Marguerite
Berthe Marjolaine (a new name for me -- thanks!)
Berthe Melisande
Berthe Melusine
Berthe Philippine
Berthe Rosamonde
