I remember when we first came across this name in Spanish class my teacher told us that it was a reference to the virgin Mary, and while that + the fact that I'm not at all Spanish make it something that isn't usable for me personally, I still think it is a really cool name. It's simple and cute and lovely...and I really do like that the etymology is so meaningful. I should PNL Pilar, I really have always found it appealing.
