[Opinions] Coco
What do you think of Coco for a girl?Does it work on its own? I think it's kind of cute. I like Coco Jane. Do you like it?

Makes me think of a dog. I was hoping you were asking for a dog's name. I couldn't take a Coco seriously, or the parent's of a Coco. As a nn, I might like it, especially if it fits the personality. But as a full name? I'd feel bad for the poor child, and then probably laugh at the parents, wondering what they were thinking.

I think it's cute, but should probably be a nn rather than a fn.

if the girl is a dog, sure, why not... if the girl is a person, no... sounds too much like a pet name... could maybe be a nn for something though.

Adorable as a nn for Socorro :-)

For a first name i dont like it, for a nickname its cute! I know a little girl named Kohana that goes by Koko?/Coco? and i think its really cute!

I hate this name so much, it just sounds so ... well, cheap. I once knew a girl in high school named Coco and I just couldn't warm up to her name. She was a lovely girl, but I just kept thinking her name was better suited for a lap dog or perfume. It's best as a nickname for a Co- name which it seems other users have suggested all the choices. My personal favorites would be Cora, Coralie, Corinne, Nicolette, and Columbia (GP of mine).

Coco is a wonderful name! I really like it, but Jane is used too often in names now. How about Coco June or Coco May?

I dislike it. It sounds very frilly and more like a dog's name. Like Fifi, Gigi, or Kiki. I can't really take it seriously, sorry.

DittoIt's fine for a small, yappy dog, but not a human. Just imagine the teasing a girl named Coco would endure. I forsee a future of "Hot Coco(a)" jibes.

I knew a girl about my age once with this name and it really suited her. It's also my stepsister's middle name, which I think honours her grandmother in some way. I think it does work on its own as a fn, although because of its relative singularness you may get people with immediate associations with the Cox-Arquette kid. I'm not sure about Coco Jane; the two styles are quite different and I'm not sure if they gel well. I'd go for something a little 'different':
Coco Jemima
Coco Imogen
Coco Astraea
Coco Ariel
Coco Diana
Coco Penelope
Coco Georgiana
Coco Lene (LAY-na)
Coco Agnetha (ahn-YET-a)
Coco Augusta
Coco Vivienne
Coco Francesca
Coco AntoniaAnything you like?

I admit I've always thought Coco was cute, but only as a nn. Coco is too flighty to stand on its own. When you put a solid classic like Jane next to it, it only heightens the silliness of Coco. How about:Colette ____ (nn Coco)
Cosima Jane (etc.)
Cordelia Jane
Coralie Jane
Colleen ____
Corisande ____
Nicole / Nicoletta Jane
Socorro ____
Concordia Jane
Echo ____
Consuelo ____
Clotilda Jane
Terpsichore Jane ("terp-SIK-uh-ree")
Columbine Jane
Coral Jane
Reiko Jane
Constance / Constanza Jane
Cosette Jane
Tamiko Jane
Connemara JaneI realize some of these are a little "out there." I just wanted to give you some ideas. When you've settled on calling her by a nn, you can have a lot of fun with an unusual fn. Have fun!

Can you imagine an 80 year old called Coco? Nope, scrap that. I think you'd be better calling your daughter a C name. Like Caroline. If you like it that is. And then call your daughter Coco.
