Trying to make a non-standard, maybe interesting CAF here..

Based on real families I know. Most of the real-life names are boring, maybe you can do better. Please try to pay attention to the ages. Give them surnames too, if you like.

1. Divorced parents with 3 kids. Both parents are offspring of white Texan Baptist preachers (names need not seem specific to this, but shouldn't be too unlikely for it). Ex-husband is dating a country singer, ex-wife is dating a female lawyer.

2. In suburban California.
Father is from a conservative middle class black family and he is a "III" (has same full name as his father & grandfather. His FN and MN start with the same letter and the name is very rhythmic, unusual and memorable, but the names are traditional English-language names.) Mother is from a white hippie family, and she has reacted against the hippiness - she's very straitlaced now, very cynical and witty. She had one son already when she married. Father & mother are now divorced. Father has remarried and his new wife, you decide her background, is expecting. You choose sex of their baby and name it.

3. Urban American family. Grandfather is from an Asian or Polynesian country (you choose). Grandmother is from England or Wales.
They had 3 daughters including Mother; gave all of them names of similar origin (either Asian/Polynesian or English/Welsh, you choose).
Mother's lesbian partner is from a Central or South American family.

4. Grandfather is Southern American of German extraction, religious (you choose what religion or if it matters). Grandmother is from a country in Asia or Europe (you get to pick which country, or use Thailand if you know Thai names).
They have one son (the Father in this family) and one daughter (the Aunt). Both Father and Aunt have names from either their dad's ethnicity or their mom's.
Father is the son of the above Grandparents, and he's a scientist. Mother is Mexican American, born in Southern California, runs a daycare. They are unmarried. Mother has a boyfriend.
