[Opinions] Re: Jessalee?
in reply to a message by Kelly
I love the name Jessey (that spelling only..it's a guilty pleasure) but for other Jess names I only like Jessa, Jessenia, Jessamine, and Jessalyn.Have you soncidered Jessalyn? I reminds me of Jessalee, but not as made up sounding, imo. If you're set on Jessalee, maybe you should try spelling it Jessaly or Jessa Leigh / Jessa-Leigh or something. The Jessalee spelling looks too kre8tve to me.-Seda*

I would use Jessalyn but can't for two reasons... I have a daughter named Raelyn (and two -lyns is too many)... and my best friend is giving birth to her first daughter (due in Dec) and has choosen the name Joslyn, and Jessalyn and Joslyn sound too similar.I don't care for Jessa on it's own... I don't know how I feel about hyphens...She's called Jessie (I'm adopting her)... I'd just use that as her proper name but almost every "Jessie" that I've spoken to has said she'll appreciate a more formal name as an adult...Tough decision!;~) KellyPS Jessie is three now, I asked her what names she likes and she just repeats whatever I say last... her only original suggestion was Elmo! LOL!

But what's wrong with Jessica?Don't you like Jessica? Do you find it overused?I also really like the suggestion of Jessenia, pretty and unusual but not made up. I think I've seen Jessamy somewhere too."You sought a flower and found a fruit. You sought a spring and found a sea. You sought a woman and found a soul. You are disappointed."

Nope I just don't like it. It is just too... well... yah, overused... My other dds names are Kiara Joy and Raelyn Shayde - they have kinda pretty, artsy names... I like that for girls. My boys on the other hand have fairly traditional family names! LOL!;~) Kelly

I do foster care and am adopting my two foster children (which will make six adopted kids for me). The two kids came to me so young and we pretty much knew they'd go up for adoption, so I started calling them by nicknames that I wanted (Jessie and JoJo)... now the adoption will be complete in December so I need to have formal names picked out (which was easy for JoJo but is proving to be more difficult than I thought for Jessie.) Jessie's birth name is Laterrika Tytiyana... But she knows herself as Jessie!I have another friend with a daughter named Jazmyn... and Jessamyn seems so similar to that! LOL! I guess as a group of friends we all have similar tastes in names, and they got to the good ones first! LOL!;~) Kelly
