[Facts] The name Ahren
I named my firstborn son Ahren, because the meaning "Eagle", or "Golden Eagle is in line with that of the name Ernest, which has been in my family for many generations.
However, I did not wish to use Ernest nor Ernst.I went back into history, and the source book for names I then had stated the name Ahren as being of ancient Teutonic origin, predating Christianity.
That book also said there is no feminine version of Ahren as a name. Some sources do refer to Scandic origins, however, I'd view that as via "linguistic root" rather than language in the direct sense, it being that the German and Scandic branches of the Indo-european tongues do have the same root.Hope this is of help.Regards, Uyraell.
