The "The Ring" association is too strong to me. I never heard the name before that movie, or anyone with it afterwards so I only associate it with that macabre series of grotesque images. I had to go talk to my therapist because that movie disturbed me so badly.

I love it. And "The Ring" doesn't count. It's not important, imo.

Really. It's girly without being OTT frilly or cutesy, plus theres the possible androgynous nn Sam if she happened to be a tomboy (not that I like Sam, but I like the option of it). It's gorgeous and unusual.
I look after the cutest little toddler Samara, and it totally sutis her. Big sis is Sophia, which is a little too close for my liking, and her cousin is Geoffrey.
