[Facts] Re: Pronunciation of Viggo
in reply to a message by Sally Sue
Hi Sally Sue,
Viggo is pronounced vi-go in Danish (the i being longer than in Tim but shorter than in Lisa). The stress is on the first syllable.
It is a latinized form of Old Norse names containing Vig- / -vig which means battle and it's a latinization of the Old Norse name Vöggr as well which means to rock/sway (alluding to a person's rolling gait).

Bullshit, the name is pornounced Vigg-O', you have to roll the g's.
I have to agree with Lolli, I know this guy very well, he isn't called "veego" we call his Vigg'O' and he seems to respond to that!
