[Opinions] Rose or Rosalie?
Rose has recently broken my top 10 girls names but today I got to thinking about Rosalie as well. I like the simplicity of Rose- it is pretty and timeless and understated. But Rosalie is a bit spunky, it's more fun to say and I imagine a Rosalie being a bit of a wild spark. So, which do you prefer and why?

RoseRose or Rosa

I prefer Rose, for it's simple, classic style. Rosalie is nice too, but seems a little more frilly to me actually.

Rosalie is more upbeat imo

I love both, but prefer Rose. It's feminine and "short and sweet", but also has a lot of strength to it, which I really like.

I prefer Rosalie. Rose is pretty, but Rosalie has more personality. I wish that Rose wasn't so common as a MN these days. That seems to have made the name seem less interesting to me.

Rose it's classic and beautiful

RoseI love it so much. Rosalie doesn't begin to compare, imo. Plus, I wouldn't touch the Twilight names with a long pole right now.

I love both names. I will pick Rosalie though. It is beautiful and refreshing and not as common.

Rosalie (nn. Rose)Although Rose is simple and timeless, it sounds a bit incomplete too me. Rosalie is beautiful and more unique AND can be nicknamed Rose.

I prefer Rose I think. But Rosalie is not behind by much.

RosalieI like it better becaus eof the sound, and it's not boring. I don't consider Rosalie to be spunky though, it seems more fitting for a delicate, calm girl to me (I consider a Rose to be a bit chubby and cheerful).

Ack...(m)I adore both of them. I'll pick Rosalie, since you can always call her Rose.

RosalieIt is strange, but I have always disliked Rose for some reason, but I love some of the related names like Rosalie and Rosalia.

same hereI like Rosalie and Rosalia, but really dislike Rose. I just don't get why so many people find it appealing.

Eh, I always sort of found Rosalie a nickname to maybe Rosalind, Rosaline or Rosalyn / Rosalin even (granted that you're pronouncing it like Rose-a-____) Out of the two I'd pick Rose, Rosalie for whatever reason seems nicknameish to me even though it's not.

I prefer Rose; I actually consider Rose more substantial than Rosalie.

Rosalie, it's more interesting and pretty as well. mOh, but just for the record: You do pronounce it ROW-za-lee in English, don't you? Or differently?

RosalieAnd not just because I'm a Twilight fan, either. I don't even like Rosalie in Twilight. No, I prefer Rosalie because it sounds more unique and memorable, and less filler. Also, Rosalie seems quite a 'fresh' name if you know what i mean - it's classical but not overused - whereas I see Rose as being a little jaded by now.
Though Rose McGowan is a favourite actress of mine. Go figure.

I prefer Rose a bit more, not sure why.

RoseI find both a little too frilly for my taste, but Rosalie seems unnecessarily frilly.
I don't find Rosalie 'spunky' at all, I actually find it more insubstantial than Rose.

Good question!I've thought about this, and I just can't choose. Both are on my PNL, and I love them equally...I also like the simplicity of Rose, and she deserves to be a first name...But Rosalie is that little more...interesting. This week, I'm going with Rosalie nn Rose. The best of both worlds. =)

I love both so I am of no help- I think I prefer the simple beauty of Rose a tad more and the recent Twilight craze has sadly taken Rosalie off my list for now (I've replaced it with my new love Rosemary.) I do love it though and definitely picture a spunky and completely loveable little one- I really do love both- lovely!!!

AgreeAs long as it's not used in the middle name position, I think Rose is quite lovely and a tad uncommon. I agree about the Twilight thing, and of replacing Rosalie with Rosemary.
