I like Susan. It does feel a bit dated because it was so popular during the mid-20th century, but it wouldn't be completely out of place on a baby today. Susan feels more classic than other mid-century faves like Carol or Donna, after all.I prefer Susanna, Suzanne, and Shoshana over Susan, though.

Totally agree except Susanna does it for me.

I like it and I think Susan is the best one.

I think Susan is okay to use now. If it were my child it would more likely be Susanna or Susannah.

My middle name! I don't think it's dated, since I've never met a person named Susan, young or old. It sounds like a little girl. I think I prefer Susan to the other variations, but I'm biased. The only exception to that is Shoshannah, from which the name originates. I think that name is beautiful.

I like Susan a lot, but not nearly as much as I adore Susannah (it needs the h...it looks incomplete without it IMO). Susannah is so melodic, but it has substance and it is uncommon but easily recognisable and it hasn't been used to excess in any period of the last century whereas Susan was.

I like Susan, and don't know why it's in the doldrums at the moment because it seems a classic to me - perhaps the reason for its current neglect is that it was overused from about 1945-65.
I also like Suzanne.
Susanna and Susannah are gorgeous, and I like the 18th century nn Sukey.
Of the two, I prefer Susannah owing to the way it looks, and if Savannah can be a current favourite I don't see why Susannah should be overlooked. It stands the test of time and is lovely.

um... I have to say its a bit outdated, yea. They are just ok. I really can't choose.... and its because (no offence!! My opinion only!!) none are reaaaallllly good. They r all just ok. Susannah is probably the best though.

Although I strongly prefer Susanna, Susannah, and even Susanne, I've always admired Susan's grace and simplicity. However, one of my classmates (I'm a college freshman) bears the name, and she's one of the few people at my school whom I resent.
