Mariah will always be primarily associated with Mariah Carey wheras Miriam is a true classic that has stood the test of time, and is the name of one of the strong and talented women of antiquity - a great role model.
Although it means "bitter" this is interepreted in Jewish lore as "bitterly longed for child", which I think makes the name all the more wonderful.
I love it so much. It has a beautiful sound and is pretty to behold!I would love a baby named Miriam.
Miriam Cecilia is pretty, thouggh I have a taboo on Cecilia because it means "blind".
Miriam Leila is a combo I drool over.
Rosalind Miriam I like.
