COLOMBE!Colombe is my married name! It's quite a common last name, and I have never heard anyone with this as a first name, but I think it would be interesting. It is pronounced co-LOME-BUH, with a longer emphasis on the LOM and a short BE.

I like Colombe & Genevieve, but I adore Virginie. Frederique is pretty too.

French names always sound so distinguished - I mean a boy named Cyril would get no end of teasing here, but change it to Cyrille for a girl and it's perfectly nice. I like Benoite, Colombe, Geneviéve and Virginie best, but my favourite is Genevieve, I love the French pronunciation.

Colombe is pronounced coh-LOHM (the pronunciation you had is for Columba, which is a masculine name that I also love), and it's been a GP of mine for a long time. I also like Genevieve and Virginie. Genevieve is probably my favorite. I'd use it in real life, although I'd use the English pronunciation.

I love Colombe. In fact, I use it as the mn is a few of my top combos. It's not pronounced col-UMBA though, more like co-LOME. The b isn't totally silent, but it's very subtle.Fabienne, Donatienne, and Virginie are all lovely too. I adore Genevieve, although I pronounce it more like zhawn-VYEV (2 syllables instead of 3).
