[Opinions] Augusta or Augustina?
I love the name August for a girl but will probably not be able to use it in my country. So I was looking for feminine alternatives. I like Augusta but have also come to like Augustina. Which ones is better and why? Do you think an Augustina would get called Tina? I really dislike Tina. Thanks

I think Augustina is best, and..I don't think they'd call her Tina. They might call her Augusta or August though. Augustina is very pretty.

AugustaI just love the sound of it. I don't like Augustina because of the -tina. I really dislike Tina. I don't know about where you live, but in the US I highly doubt there would be an issue with an Augustina being called Tina since it's such a rare name. I've never heard of anyone with that name.

Augusta! Love it :) Augustina is too long and the chance of being called Tina is quite big I guess..
Augusta is closer to August. But if you don't mind me asking, why can't you use it in your country?

Because it's seen as a male name there and you are not allowed to give names that are strictly male to a girl, not even with a feminine middle name :(

I prefer Augusta to Augustina.

I like Augustina much, much better than Augusta. It seems kind of fresher to me, and the A doesn't feel so tacked on. I doubt she'd get called Tina. I know dozens of girls whose names end in -tina and not one gets called Tina (well, one goes by Stina).
