I love the name and hope it *doesn't* make a comeback.

Personally I don't like it and it is old womanish to me. However, I do think that it'll become more popular in the future.
The recent comeback is, I believe, due to Julia Roberts using it for her daughter and bringing it to the spotlight.

Where I live Hazel is kind of common among girls in there teens/ early twenties. It was a name I heard quite a lot when I was in school etc so its dated in a different way for me. So because of this I don't see it as an old lady name at all.

I don't like Hazel. It's boring and plain.

I would love to see this name on a little girl. To me, it is a sweet old lady name that is ready for a comeback.
It fits in with other rising botanical and -Z- names like Daisy, Susanna, Rosie and Ivy.

I don't find it too dated. It's pretty and I can imagine it on a female of any age. I guess it could make a comeback.

I think Hazel is one of those older names that totally seems like it could become (fairly) popular again. It doesn't really make me think of an old lady though because the only Hazel I've ever met is in her early 30's. I remember really liking Hazel for a short time in early high school-- I would have used it in real life. I don't really like it anymore, but it's not bad. I can see it on a little girl now for sure.

I adore the name Hazel. I can see it on a baby, a young woman, and an old woman. I also like the idea of it being used on a boy. I once had a friend named Haze (not short for Hazel though) and the name feels unisex to me know. I probably wouldn't use it though. I agree with Rachel Shaina that it has potential to be very trendy.

I love it, and think it's still alive, though quietly used. It seems to have always done better in Scotland than elsewhere in Britain, where - like Valerie and Gillian - it's a name that was popular in the '40s and '50s.

Hazel Zemira

2) Not really. Honestly, when I hear certain names, they evoke mental images, but I don't specifically see an old lady or an old person. I don't know how to describe it. :) I guess Hazel evokes mental images of vintage patterns.

I've known a couple of Hazels who are currently under 30.
I also know a lot of women who would consider using it for a child in the next couple of years. It's on the rise, as the numbers show.

Well I am a Hazel and I am 17. I also know another 17 year old called Hazel.

Hazel's certainly making a comeback (at least in America).

...I think it has all the potential to be very trendy. Nature name, long A sound, a Z, a consonant ending (very in for girls now).

I think it's already making a comeback. Not a major comeback but a slight one. I can see this on a little girl and I think it's a good name. Maybe a few years ago I would have pictured a woman older than the hills... but not so much anymore.

I think it's cool for an older woman. I do like it.
