I go by my first name at work and I did in school as well. I go by my nickname (Mandy) with family and close friends. I am sometimes still called Shark at work based on an incident. I am called Mandable by my extended family on my paternal side. My dad nicknamed me Binks as a baby. It doesn't have a story behind it, but my parents call me that. My boyfriend can't figure out what to call me: Amanda, Ama, Mandy (he doesn't like this), Monkey (based on personality).

I have an aunt who goes by the nickname of her middle name! Her name is Lois Jean, but she only goes by Jeanie.
