[Opinions] Estella
Estella used to be my favorite name but then I got a bit tired of it. Now I'm starting to like it again and would like to hear what you think of it.What does it make you think of? A nice person, a stuck up person? I worry it might sound like the name of an arrogant person because of Estella Havisham (Great Expectations). I love the book and character but maybe others have negative associations with it.Do you like the sound or is it too harsh sounding?Elsa is a family name so I'd like to use it as well. Are Elsa and Estella too close for sisters?Kaia is another favorite. Do you prefer Kaia over Estella? Do Kaia, Elsa and Estella go together for sisters?Any good middle name suggestions for Estella? Most middle names I like have to many As and Ls in them and sound bad with Estella.Do you know an Estella? Do you think it has the potential to get common?Stella is getting popular. Do you think an Estella would always have to correct people because they'd assume she was a Stella?

I really like Estella, I think it sounds gorgeous and I picture a cute little blonde girl with the name. While I read Great Expectations, the character really doesnt spring to mind when I hear the name. Elsa and Estella are a bit too close for siblings in my opinion although I think Elsie fits fine with Estella.I prefer Estella over Kaia and I hate Stella so I'd hope and think most people would not confuse Estella for it.

I love Estella, though I prefer Estelle as it differentiates itself from the ever-rising Stella. I do find the sound to be a bit awkward, with the 'a' at the end. I think it works better with Estrella. Elsa and Estella may be too close in sound for sisters, though you could always nn Estella "Elsa."I strongly prefer Estella to Kaia. Estella seems a bit more substantial.Estella Clare

Estella makes me think of the little ice queen from "Great Expectations." Not such a bad literary association, though. It's a great book, and Estella (in my opinion)was a great character. She may not have been lovable, but she WAS memorable.I don't think Elsa and Estella are too close for sisters, since Estella would probably be shortened to Stella as a NN.I think I prefer Estella over Kaia. Kaia is a simple Scandinavian name, and I love Scandinavian names, but Estella has more attitude.Estella June
