[Opinions] WDYTO Cody?
I'm coming up with names for our new baby and I'm trying to avoid overly trendy and common names... but I keep coming back to Cody. I've loved it since I was 11 years old. But it seems so 1990's trendy, like Ashley. What are your thoughts on Cody (for a boy)? Can you think of anything it could be short for? Thanks

My brother's name is Dakota, nn Cody. I don't like it though, and he hates it. He's 21, and it's still really odd to see this name on a man, it's way too babyish on him.

I love the name Cody, i have a cousin with that name!
I think it's so sweet and not used enough

I have never ever been a fan of this name and it does seem very 80s/90s to me like Jason, Justin, Kevin etc...

This name is ruined for me. No offense to anyone but everybody I know named Cody has been a complete and total jerk with one exception. He wasn't a jerk, he was just really annoying.

I don't particularly like it, but it's how you feel about the name that matters most. I'll give full names for it a try. SOrry if most of them are a stretch.Nicodemus
Clifford
Corrado
Crawford
Claudio
Conrad

When I hear Cody, I automatically think, "That's a dog's name." Maybe because I actually knew a canine Cody when I was growing up. I don't recommend it, really.

It annoys me. I think people use it because it's a cute "little boy" name, but they're not thinking ahead to the day when the little boy will be a grown man. I think it's too insubstantial and cutesy for an adult. And then it's so cowboyish, too. It just annoys the heck out of me.

I've never really been a fan of Cody. It just doesn't seem like it would age with the person very well. I can't really think of anything it could be a nickname for, either. Sorry, I'm no help.
