[Opinions] Shoshana
I can never decide if I like it or not. WDYT? Is it better or worse than Susan? Than other variants of the name (Suzanne, Susanna etc)?

I love Shoshana! (At least the sound of it, sometime I don't like to look at it, I don't know why.)
I prefer Shoshana to Susan and all the other variants. It's fresher and softer and more fun to say. It has a floaty-ness to it while still being down to earth. Balance. Susan has grown on me, but it's no Shoshana.

Don't really like it. I think it's the Shana part that puts me off it, bad association for me. I definitely prefer Susanna and Susan.

I prefer it to Susan. It's the original form of the name, so it's more authentic, and it's not dated, and it's prettier than Susan. Nothing really against Susan, I just like Shoshana more.

I like it. I think it's beautiful. I couldn't say if I like it more or less than Susan because they're very different to me, even thought they're variants of the same name.

For my own child, I'd never consider it, as it would go dreadfully with our last name.
I'm not really fond of Shoshana, I think it's the "Sho" part I dislike.
Actually, I like Susan. Also Suzanne (quite popular in my area.)Suzette?(also popular..don't like it much.too chorus-girl.)

I prefer Susannah, but I think Shoshana is definitely better than Susan. I like Susan, but Shoshana is much more interesting without being trendy or unusual. It feels younger, too.

I've never liked Shoshana. It sounds bratty to me.Susannah, on the other hand, is lovely.

I love it, nn Shoshi or Shani (the latter is a name in its own right, of course, Hebrew for "scarlet").
I also love Susannah, far better than Savannah.

I'm in the same boat.On one hand it's very beautiful, on the other it's a bit over the top. As for it being better than Susan: They have two completely different vibes to me. Susan is a very plain-jane name, simple, while Shoshana has a more dramatic edge to it. I can't really chose which one is better - it's more about what you want in a name.I'm also not that fond of Suzanne/Susanna - I used to be, not so much anymore. Not sure why. I suppose if I used any I would use Shoshana.
