[Opinions] Darrell on a girl? (and some others)
I used to be a big Enid Blyton fan, and one of her series was based around a girl called Darrell. WDYT? Weird? Ok? Have you ever met a female Darrell? I think I actually like it more on a girl than a boy, but not enough to use. Also, WDYTO Tracy? I know, dated, past-it, etc, but could it be time for a comeback? It's sort of growing on me lately.Lastly, I met a guy called Shad the other day. I was expecting a guy around my age (early 20s) but he was at least 35. WDYT? I think it's weird.

Darrell on a girl makes me think of the actress Daryl Hanna. I think Daryl looks a bit more feminine (kind of reminds me of Taryn), but I still don't care for it for a girl. It's not horrible or anything though. I know of someone who has a daughter who is about 8 named Daryl (not sure of the spelling), so I can see it used on a girl. Shad and Tracy are both NMS. They both scream 70s to me even though Shad wasn't exactly popular then. It's close to Brad and Chad, which were, though. I don't see Tracy making a comeback anytime soon.

I've never met anyone of either sex called Darrell. Like you, I first came across the name in the Malory Towers series so I like it on a girl well enough. I don't think Tracy is ready for a comeback yet, although the sound itself is pretty. The women named Tracy around here are only in their 30s and 40s. To me, it is 70s where Stacey is 80s. It doesn't help that the only Tracy I knew was an absolute thug - a woman with a Scrunchie, track suit, blackened teeth and a Rottweiler. I kid you not :-/

I don't like it. I don't like it on a boy though either. There was a character in Final Fantasy III named Darrell. Though I think they spelled it Daryl. That's what it makes me think of.

Hahaha oh my god I used to love Enid Blyton. That was Malory Towers, wasn't it? Darrell and Sally? I loved those books. That's why Darrell has always been feminine to me.Tracy is heaps dated to me. It just screams 70s. I can't see a comeback for at least a while.Don't like Shad.

TWINS AT ST CLARE'S!!! I loved them! Think I might have to find my copies now hehe.I think we need a post of Enid Blyton names. I know we had a Harry Potter one a while ago, but I'm feeling an Enid Blyton one coming on. :)

I hate Darrell on any gender especially a girl. I hate Tracy as well, its my ex-step mother's name (spelt Tracey) and she isn't a very nice person.
