Hmmm.....I never thought of it as a boy's name before, but I think it could work. It is a very quiet and soft-sounding name to me so that's why I associate it with femininity, but there's no reason why it can't be used as a boy's name...it doesn't end in any stereotypical "girl's sounds" (ette, ina, ella, ia, etc.) so....yeah! I would probably use it as a female name, but the possibility of shifting it to the boy's team is definitely there.PS: I had to giggle at your reasoning - "to me it works because it's a bird name and birds come in both sexes" - that was adorable! (seriously, not making fun!)
