I love this as a middle name

I don't think it is usable as a fn...but as a lover of Gardenia (as in the plant), I wouldn't mind seeing it as a mn

While I lvoe gardenias, this is one botanical name I don't think is really usable. I don't see a problem with the pronunciation, though.

I don't think people will mispronounce it for the same reason I don't think it's usable--it's familiar because it's so popular in perfumes, scented candles, and air fresheners. It's better as a middle name than a first name, imo.

when i first saw i thought 'ugh', but now i know how its pronounced i think its kind of pretty. I suppose most people will say: GAR den uh = not so nice!

I think it's a little much. And people will probably say Gar-DEN-ee-ah.

I don't think it's usable. It sounds like a perfume. I don't think pronunciation would be a problem at all, as I think most people would naturally pronounce it the way that you do. Still, I'd say no to it.

Yeah, I think it's usable. Gardenias are such a pretty flower and the name has grown on me substantially in the last few months, that I'm encouraging others to use it. :)Gardenia May
