I don't care for Harry, but I like James. Henry James would have been nicer.
I quite like it.
As for the book, I've always been surprised by how normal and common Harry James Potter's name was considering some other names in it (like Draco, Hermione, Albus, Severus, etc.). I wonder if JK Rowling chose it because of Prince Harry?
I don't see it as a problem, he's not going to go around saying his middle name all the time (Harry Baldwin doesn't have any connotations) + not many kids are namenerds and pay attention to what HP's middle name is.

Nice but too common a pairing to be solely Harry Potter
I'm sure half the Harrys I've run across have borne James as a middle name. Standard issue!

Lovely! It's a great combo, and it matches her name.
I don't see it as Harry Potter-ish like others might. I mean, both Harry and James have been quite popular, common names for a long time. It's a very normal combo; it's not like she named the kid something completely confined to the HP universe like Dumbledore...

I agree
How many people know your middle name?
Srsly. Some of my best friends don't even know mine.
I find it slightly ridiculous that people always bring up the argument that kids will be teased about their middle names. Unless you go around introducing yourself by your full name, not many people are going to know your middle name.
And the other posters have made valid points that Harry and James are incredibly common and most people wouldn't make the connection.
And even if they DID make a connection, what are they going to say? Oh, you've got the same name as Harry Potter. That's kind of silly. But the books were cool.
It's nothing truly tease-worthy. It could be much worse is all I'm sayin'.

And isn't ...
Harry Potter a 'cool guy' to kids? I'd think being names 'after' him would be great for a 6-year-old:-)

Well, when I was a kid, it was very cool to hate Harry Potter. ;P I agree that him sharing his first and middle name with Mr. Potter isn't going to cause a lot of problems. If I wasn't a name nerd, I wouldn't even know most of my friends' middle names.
No, not in the UK
It's a standard issue pairing like I said in an earlier message. Most people wouldn't think twice about it.
Harry has been top 20 there for many years, top 10 for four. Think about how many of those Harrys have James as a middle name. I'm betting loads.

Yes, and...
His full name is Harry James Baldwin and not many children are namenerds, I bet many of them have no idea what Harry Potter's middle name is (I've read all the books and it didn't occur to me). Plus there's Prince Harry, so Harry Potter is really not the best known Harry in the UK.
Now if she's named him Draco Albus or Severus Ronald, that would be note worthy.

wow Very Harry-Potter :)
I'd like James Harry better, but Harry James is beautiful, too. Finally a celebrity with some common sense!
I wish Harry was a nickname. I really hate Harry.
finally a celebrity who hasnt called her child after a fruit or something! Yay! lol.
Henry James would have been better.
Love the name, but very Harry Potter-ish.
Meh, not very exciting. Rather dull.
I love the name. It makes me think of Harry Potter.
