I think Mary and Rory make a fine sib-set. They don't sound alike to me at all.

I think they go quite well together. It'd be a lovely twin/sibset.

I am a bit odd in that I have issues with siblings having names that start or end in similar sounds. For example, Ashley & Wesley or Braden & Bradley. Therefore, MaRY & RoRY bother me a bit. But both are very nice names, and not overly cutesy together, and at least they don't rhyme. :b I adore Rory, and so nice to see in used on boys. :)ETA: How about using a variant of Mary or using it with a nn?
Suggestions...
Marianne/Marianna
Mariel
Mara
Miriam
Mary nn Molly, Maisie, Mamie

Thanks for your opinion! I usually do have the same thing about sibsets that are like the ones you've mentioned, but maybe I didn't have an issue with it this time because I really love both names and it wasn't matchy on purpose, and like you've said, not overly cutesy together ;).
The variant suggestion does make sense, but I'm kind of settled on Mary at the moment. Just right now, probably not for the rest of my life ;).
From your suggestions, I love Marianne and Marianna (even better; or Mariana), Mara, Molly, Maisie, and Mamie, but would only use
Marianne/-a, Mara, Molly.

I like both names, but not together.

I love both namesI don't think they're so similar that it should keep you from using them. They're also not a perfect match for a sibset, but they're not totally mismatched either.

I think they work. I think itd be better if they werent so close though.
