[Opinions] Lilia
I loved the name Lilia a long time ago and then forgot about it. Recently I watched the movie The Ten Commandments and there was a girl named Lilia in it so it made me fall in love with the name all over again. What do you think of Lilia for a girl? Do you think people would want to call her Lily? (I like Lily, but prefer the full form).Do you think there would be pronunciation troubles? I'd want it to be pronounced LIL-lee-ah.Do you think the name is too close to currently trendy names (Lydia, Lily, Lilian, Lila) to be considered? I don't want her going through life saying "No, not Lydia, LILIA" all the time. What do you think of my combos? Any new suggestions?Noah Lilia or Noah Olivia?
Lilia Miriam
Miriam Lilia
Lilia Catherine
Lilia Deborah
Lilia Eve
Lilia Dana
Lilia ElanaOh and do you happen to know if there really was a LILIA in the bible?

Lilia is probably my favorite form of the name. It's really pretty. I don't think there will be any pronunciation problems. I love Lilia Miriam, Miriam Lilia, Lilia Catherine, and Lilia Eve.

Beautiful name! I could see it being shorten to Lily but It wouldn't stop me from using it. Lilia Eve is just gorgeous. Lily8 I love all the names you post about I've noticed! We must have the same taste.Do not know if Lilia is in the bible?

I like Lilia Miriam and Lilia Catherine. I think Lilia is pretty. I didn't know it was in The Ten Commandments. Now, I want to watch it to see if I find it in there. LOL. They might call her Lily, but for the most part, I think they'd just call her Lilia. I don't see any pronounciation troubles. I'd say it the way you said it. I don't forsee any confusion. (LOL, excuse my spelling).

It's the one from 1956. The name is even mentioned in the opening credits, and the character had quite a big part, as far as I can remember. Now I want to watch it again hehe I'll go and search for the DVD.

I think Lilia is beautiful! I suggested it to my husband last week and he said, "I like Lily better." I would venture to say that a lot of people would shorten it to Lily, simply because three syllable names tend to get shortened to two-syllable nicknames. You're going to have pronunciation troubles with ANY name you pick. Most people will get it, because most people can read or at least will go with the preferred pronunciation once corrected. But I have an aunt named Maria who constantly has to correct people, and that's a fairly common name. I don't think it's too close to the names you listed, but I also don't consider those names trendy. They're mostly older, established and traditional names that are seeing a resurgence by people that dislike trendy (Ryleigh, Kamrynn, Nevaeh, etc.) names.I like Lilia Catherine and Lilia Eve. For me, Lilia is very elaborate and feminine and should be paired with something a bit more subdued. What about:Lilia Estelle
Lilia Francine
Lilia Gwyneth
Lilia Gladys
Lilia June
