I, for one, adore it, but then, I have a proclivity towards "i" names. I've decided it is PNL-worthy.

Ooo, both of those are great. Ida was my great-great grandmother's name.

Ida and similar names like Ina, Iva, and Ima really don't do anything for me, but Ida Frances is a cute combo.

Love it, especially with the "EE-duh" pronunciation. But I don't expect anyone to use that here in the US. The "EYE-duh" one is beautiful too.
Both combinations you list are lovely, but I think Frances captures Ida's personality more. Ida Frances is so retro. Ida Josephine?

I agree about 'I' names being lovely - I have a soft spot for them to but Ida is far from my favourite. It sounds like when people say 'I woulda' very fast and it comes out like 'I'da...' However, I adore Ira for a boy.
Ida Caroline is a beautiful combo though. I adore it.

Never thought about the 'I woulda'-thing... But I prefer to pronounce Ida EE-dah anyway.

I went to school with a girl named Ida (ee-da),born in the mid 80s, and it's very popular here right now (# 12 in 2008) so I don't really see it as cutting edge. I think it's quite boring and can't really understand why it's so popular.

I don't like it. I worked with a woman named Idaline , who goes by Ida(she's in her 20's). I really like her and the name at first seemed cutting-edge, but then it got bland, and then I started to think of Idaho potatoes every time I said her name.

It might be cutting edge now, but I have a feeling names like Ida and Ada will become more popular. Ava wasn't used at all until a few years ago, and that name is in the same vein.
It's still lovely, though. I definitely prefer Ada, but Ida is cute. Ida Frances is my favorite combo.

It's odd, but to me Ida & Ada couldn't feel less like Ava.

Ida Caroline is great. I could never get into Frances (even though it's my grandmother's middle name and most people feel very fondly about the names of their grandparents). It's flat and unimpressive. But Ida is really beautiful. I like it a lot.
