1.I've mostly heard it as TAN-ya (short a), though the TAHN-ya is somewhat "classier".
2.Tanya, preferred spelling.
3.I like it well enough, certainly don't dislike it. Doesn't really remind me of anything.
4. The one Tanya I did know, had a sister named Gwenyth, if that helps. Otherwise-
Tanya, Judith, and Amber.
