[Opinions] Spanish Names
So, for my Spanish class, we have to pick a Spanish name to go by. This year, I was Esperanza, but, combined with my last name, it was too long to write at the top of papers and tests. Anyways, I want a new, shorter one. Right now I like Sonya (my friend voted for that one) and Guadalupe nickname Lupe (I love the meaning). WDYT of those? And do you have any other suggestions?

Leonor is my favorite Spanish name, but Guadalupe is also awesome.

Me encanta el nombre Lupe. Pienso que debes usarlo, porque el nombre Sonya falta la belleza de Guadalupe. Además, Sonya no tiene el significado religioso que persiste en otro nombre. Sin la gran historia, Sonya no es igual. Usa Guadalupe. So yeah, Guadalupe beats Sonya. Plus, it's more fun to say. Pardon the crappy Spanish.

I think I would use Sonia over Sonya because the spelling is used far more often and is more traditional in Spanish. I like Guadalupe quite a bit. Some other suggestions:

Azucena
Carmen
Fabiola
Gisela
Gracia
Graciana
Graciela
Inés
Jacinta
Lucía
Macaria

Paloma
Piedad
Renata
Rocío

Consuelo, Socorro, and Pilar are the only that come to mind. I love Guadalupe though. I'd go with that.
