[Facts] I would like to have my own English name.
I am thirty-eight years old and a Korean man. Could you give me a nice English first name for me?

Try an anagram!I have an English name for you, and it can be found by rearranging the letters of your own name -- so it already belongs to you.Wonseok Choi anagrams into the English name of...Howie CoksonHowie: pet form of Howard. (click on name for meaning)Cokson: a variant of Cox, meaning "rooster; cock". You can read more about the name at this link:http://woodcarversguild.com/Coats%20of%20Arms/Cock.html-- Nanaea

Furthermore...Your Misissipi Blues anagram alias: Koochie Snow
Your Irish wild-wild-west alias: Cowskin O'Hoe
Your Ben 'n' Jerry high-calorie alias: Choko Snowie

Glad to see you in fine form, as always, Bro'! lol"Koochie Snow" and "Cowskin O'Hoe" would make great stripper names. And "Choko Snowie" is the perfect name for a cocaine dealer who dresses as a clown when working the schoolyard. ("All the kids love Choko Snowie!")I wonder whatever happened to Wonseok Choi? He posted this request a week ago and hasn't been back since.I'll drop you an e-mail, Bro'.-- Nanaea

Ah yes, Choko Snowie, Daividh's evil twin and well-hushed family embarrassment! By the way, the old fart did drop by a couple of months ago, and does so sporadically. As do Phyllis and SarahJeanne – but very rarely. Everytime they do, we always invoke thee :)

I thought Choko Snowie WAS Daividh! Love to Phyllis & SarahJeanne, too!

P.S. And much, much love to Mike C., and also Barb. I've missed you all.

Has your Korean name got a meaning? If so, you can go to the Home page of this site, and under Search there's an option where you can type in the meaning and see what you get!May I also suggest that you might like to check with an English-speaking friend that there won't be pronunciation issues with the name you choose; you might not even be aware that you've got a Korean accent (and, indeed, perhaps you haven't!) but if there are any sounds that your countrymen find difficulty with in English, it might be wise to avoid them. Also on the home page, you can find out what little American boys were being named when you were a baby! Might give you some ideas.Let us know if you find a name you like.

It would be nice if we could find an English name that meant the same thing as your Korean name. But since I can't translate your name, may I suggest:John
Dave
Charlie.. I suggest any often-used name such as these, which would seem appropriate for your age, and so they are are modest and comfortable in any context. If I adopted a Korean name, that's how I would want mine to be.- chazda
