Zotique --this is probably the most unexpected and coolest name on the list. I love obscure French forms of Greek names.

Holy crepes Suzette -- these aren't all from your family tree, are they? I assume these are names you've come across generally searching French names. But your intro says you jotted them down while searching your own family. If so, then you have the mother-load when it comes to family names. It would be a crime not to use some of these, even if in the mn position. There are too many for me to list, but the ones that jump out at me, and the ones in particular that I hope you use, are: Adolphine (poor Adolph is permanently out of the running as a name, so perhaps the female variant should get a chance at a mn spot -- it's very pretty)
Clemence (why isn't this more popular? It's gorgeous.)
Dieudonne
Edwige (prefer this, unless yours is a family spelling)
Emile
Eudoxie
Eulalie
Euphemie
Euphronsine
Ferdinand / Fernand / Fernande
Georgine (another Why Isn't This More Popular kind of name)
Honore (nn Ray?)
Huguette (adore this one)
Leonie
Odile
Theophile
Toussaint
Zephirin / Zephyrine (surprisingly, there was a member of the French royal family with the name Zephyrine -- I would have thought it was too trendy for them, but that's as much as I know. I have a dark, cherry pink "Zephinrine Drouhin" climbing rose in my garden. You could plant one in your Zephirin / Zephirine / Zephyrine's honor.)Great list, all around.

Yes, they are all names of relatives! I've gone back pretty far thanks to the Drouin Collection and help from cousins. I like to look into the families of brothers and sisters of my great-greats as well, and when each couple had 10+ children and each of their children had 10+ there are a lot of names!Of course you have to go through a million Joseph's, Jean-Baptiste's
Pierre's, Francois's, Marie's, Louise's, and Anne's, before you get to the interesting names. As for the name Edwige. There were a few distant cousins who had this name. My great grandmothers sisters name was actaully spelt Hedwidge, probably spelt that way so she wouldn't be confused with her cousin Edwige.Zephirin was one of my great grandmothers brothers middle names. Yes, the French are notorious for their middle names! That also lengthened the list. His whole name was Joseph Hormisdas Valentin Zephirin. Also, many children had a "pre-name" of Marie and Joseph but always went by their second name.
