Sarla burst through the bedroom door one afternoon with an EPT test waving in her hand. “Kai, Kai!” She dissolved to giggles on the bed. “Look!”
Kai’s eyes lit up his face. “No way!”
Sarla nodded. “Yes!”
“No way!”
“I’m serious!” she piped hysterically and showed him the results of the test.
The two of them flopped on the bed next to each other and Kai covered her in playful kisses. Since being married a year ago the young couple had thought of little else than starting their family and now their wish was coming true.
Soon the entire family knew. Of course everyone thought they had the perfect name for baby Valerius, but Sarla and Kai paid them no attention. They knew what they wanted to name their baby’s name to be-something to do with Ireland since that was their heritage and something to combine both of their names, as a way of binding the two of them together.
Kai rushed to St. Marina’s Hospital (ha! St. Marina’s and they’re in Northern Ireland) with Sarla and within a few hours he was holding his brand new baby daughter, Yonca Sarai.
The newest addition to the Valerius family was a joy for the whole family who had come from Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and Germany for the occasion. Though none of them understood her name, they all agreed it was a very suiting name after hearing about why it was chosen.
“We wanted to name her something having to do with Ireland.” Kai explained. “And Yonca means “clover”; it’s like a shamrock.”
“And Sarai comes from our names.” Sarla smiled beaming at her baby. “S-A-R from my name and “A-I from Kai’s.”
Ack! If I don’t stop here I’ll type all night! Draw your own conclusions..hehe.
