[Facts] Sette
Sette is the name of my great great aunt. She is German. I was told that Sette is a nickname. I was just wondering if anyone knows what it might be a nickname for."It's the job that is never started that takes the longest to finish." - J.R.R. TolkienVOTE on my Name List

I have never heard of this and I can't find it anywhere. But my guess would be: short form of names like Lisette, Josette, Rosette, or Susette. Not typically German form, rather French, but still fairly popular in Germany.

Thanks...A lot of my German cousins have French names, I just wasn't sure how far back the popularity of French names went in my family. The rest of her siblings are Fritz, Adam, Margaret, Jacob, Maria, Kristina, Hildegard, Herman, Anna, Helene, and Katharine. So, it would be odd, but not entirely unlikely. It's the only explanation that makes sense to me at present.
