[Opinions] Lea?
I don't like Leah at all--I know that much. Leah's a name for ugly girls with mullets who can't sing. (I've had some bad Leah-related experiences.) However, Lea has been growing on me lately.I have always loved Lia (one of my favourite combos used to be Lia Callisto) but considered Lea as bad as Leah. It must be said that the sudden Lea-favouring definitely has something to do with Lea Thompson, but honestly, it's a nice name. What do you think of it? I would pronunce it LEE-ah rather than LEE, LAY, or LAY-ah (that's Leia and Leia alone for me). Do you prefer Lea or Lia (Leah's not an option)?I've been thinking mostly of Lea Teresa or Lea Ruby. Lea Clarisse also came to mind, but I like Clarisse too much as a first name now. :)Array

I say them all the same way too... but I like the spelling Lia the best!"Never make someone a priority, who only makes you an option."

I'm a little confused, since I say Leah, Lea, and Lia all EXACTLY the same way...But anyway. I prefer the spelling Lia, since you don't like Leah. Lea looks weirdly incomplete to me.Sorry, but I really dislike all of the middle name choices.

I say them all the same way, too. However, I know other people who don't, and I was just pointing out the alternate pronunciations I wouldn't be using.Array

Okay, I've never heard anyone say LEE for Lea or Leah.

To me lee-ah is Lia, and Lea & Leah are both leh-ah. Lay-ah is Leia and lie-ah is Laia. Lee would be Lee or Leigh. :)I prefer Lea or Lia although to me the name Lea lacks "personality" and strength. The meaning "tired" isn't very nice, although the Biblical character is good (although since my Hebrew name is Rahel I'm not a fan of Lea lol).Lea Teresa is gorgeous, by the way.

I thought Leah and Lea/Lia would be pronounced the same way, no?What about just Lee? I think this is really cute for a little girl.

I like Lea Teresa the best. I also like Ruby Clarisse lol!

Ruby's my younger sister's name.If I used it, it'd be as a middle name, because having two Rubys around would confuse me!Array

My favorites are Lia and Lea as well. Lia because its Italian and because I was and remain and shameless Francesca Lia Block fan (oh Weetzie Bat...). Lea I have grown to like because of a fantastic girl I met last year named Lea, who was the president of my school's NOW chapter. I pronounce both as LEE-ah and only LEE-ah.I like Lea Teresa and Lea Clarisse. They both sound excellent to me. I like Lea and Ruby, but I don't like the way Lea Ruby looks together. It sounds alright, if not a bit sing-songy (lee-AH, rue-BEE), but Lea Ruby looks... I don't know, abbreviated or something... I can't quite put my finger on it.Arcadia

But I don't like that pronunciation, lol!The only one I like is LEE-ah. The others sound too forced to me.Array

I love the name only if it's spelled Lia. And please don't use Lia Teresa. Lia Clarisse is nice though.Kristen~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Why not Lia Teresa?I would use Lea/Lia Teresa because Teresa is my mother's name. Is there something really horrible about it I'm missing?Array
