[Surname] Re: Exupery?
French names beginning with Saint are usually placenames. De Saint-Exupéry means 'from Saint-Exupéry', one of four places so named in France.

Now the SaintAccording to Herder's Lexikon der Heiligen und Heiligenverehrung Vol 1, Exuperius (according to tradition) was the first bishop of Bayeux (4th cent.)
The "Heiligenlexikon" (www.heiligenlexikon.de) gives "he who devotes himself" as the meaning of his name. I couldn't find anything matching in my Greek dictionaries, but maybe somebody else does.

Ex(s)uperius is derived from Latin ex(s)uper 'above'. Ex(s)uperare means 'to rise above, to surpass' so Ex(s)uperius should mean 'he who rises above'.
